The first time for a lot of people is always the best, for some it's memorable, for some it's very embarassing....
X was a sophomore student in the University and had just made a decision to change her place of worship and found somewhere more comfortable on the campus, a fellowship that made her feel at home.
Part of the requirements for new members was to attend a basic class called Foundation school. Students were divided into small groups with volunteer teachers who were also all students who had been in the fellowship for a while.
Her friend Y, was a teacher at the Foundation shcool and she wanted so badly to be in her friend's group. The list came out and she was disappointed to find out she had been put in the class of someone that she didn't even know. She went to ask her Y why she wasn't in her class, why gave an unintelligible answer. X expressed her disappointment for being put in A's class.
She turned her nose up, disappointment and cynicism written all over her face and she turned to Y and asked 'please tell me who is that A sef?'. Y smiled and X was irritated. X persisted in her quest to know. Please tell me, i hope he's a nice person and not someone that'll put me off this Foundation school o.
The answer came soon enough, 'he's right there behind you'.
X felt like the ground should open up and swallow her. Embarassment written all over her face, she turned and said 'A, nice to meet you. I didn't mean what i said the way it sounded'. A flashed a smile and said 'it's ok don't worry, see you in class'. He sauntered off leaving X all purple faced.
Interestingly, their relationship blossomed after that, they became best of friends and six and half years later, they got married.
Yeah, that's how Writefreak met her hubby the first time...lol, you wanna share how you met your husband, wife, fiancee/fiance or boyfriend? Would love to hear...
Hope you all had a good weekend. Wish you a pleasant week ahead!

Wow...I hope to one day soon, put up a post like this....awwwwww...stop making me mushy..sob sob..
Awww...that was too cute. I also want to meet my own Y in some fellowship. I dunno how that'll happen though since I don't attend any fellowship. Hmm...oh well.
Aww...I love mushy gist, I met my Fiance in school and it was love at first sight. He was everything I wanted in a man and I remember sitting with my girlfriends and gisting and wondering why this sexy baby keeps starring at us. One thing led to the other and am engaged to him. ..It was pure joy knowing we shared same month for birthday, same brown eyes and think alike.lol
I tried to make my story short becos the real story is going to take more than 20 stories to write.lol
OH MY!!!!! That's so nice.
I knew my boyfriend's family and we went to the same church since I was like 13, we became cellphone friends during holidays only (I had a small crush on him cuz he was too fine).
We then started dating some years after we became more mature and concrete friends. I never though in a million years that I would date him as his personality is far from what I predicted based off the fine boy stereotype.
well...i sure hope I'll come back and write on this post soon...so mushy...i had an inkling that it was about you!!
Hope u're good hon xxx
I met my Mr in uni too, through a mutual friend. My friend and I were having lunch together and he came to say hello to us. My friends did the introductions, we said hi and he chatted with us for a while. He later got my number from her and we met in church randomly one day and things went from there......
Wao, that was refreshing. I just left buttercup’s blog after reading a most disturbing piece and this just made me smile. What a fairy tale like meeting. I bet you guys are still so very much in love (obviously) and I wish you and hubby many more decades of wonderful years together. I met my babymama through a close friend and never for once did I ever imagine I’d be hooked up with her but today this is the case and I’m so glad we’re together.

Mine is a bit complicated. I met my bf a week before i got dumped by my sleazy ex who was dating another girl for one year during our relationship and needed an excuse cos she was coming for the weekend. Funny thing was that i met my new f thru the ex boyfriend of the girl my ex was cheating on me with.
This is our second year......

For me, met Mr A while doing a 1-yr industrial attachment..and first impression was.."OMG, not another poser...lol" 2yrs later, after a full yr of silence, while counting down to a new year, i get an sms..."I'm about to enter a new year and all i can think about is you in your blue shirt(that was the shirt i wore the first day at the office) and how I've missed u this past yr"...and the rest is history..lol

Talk about wanting to put your foot in your mouth! lol!
P and I met during youth service and nope, it wasn't love at first sight but 4 years later we got married!
I really should do a post about it!
I was on a pleasure cruise sipping on some champagne, entranced by the soft flow of Mozart's Piano Concerto #23 playing on my iPod, when I glanced sideways and our eyes locked and flung us into a feverish, psychical embrace...it was love at first sight...YEAH RIGHT!!! lol!
I met my husband while in school though we didn't start to date until 5yrs after. On the night in question, I ... before that night actually, I had seen him once and ... this gist will have to be later. it's somehow long and roundabout. seriously.

He was d one I was always sharing issues with nice and ugly ones but he wld never judge... then it started and here we are today
Oh wowwww...that's just amazing. LOLLLLL.
It seems to me that women and society have paid a very high price for what has largely been a failed attempt by women to compete with men on men’s terms. In truth, women have gained very little for giving up the femininity. They are paid less, they hold fewer top jobs, they are poorly represented in public office because when the going get tough they cannot compete with men.
I am not saying that either sex is superior, only that in the hard world of business and politics women have failed to perform at the same level as men. Men will simply go harder for longer in their quest to come out on top. For example every man expects to work everyday for 50 years; he is in for the long haul. Young women on the other hand only expect to work until their first child comes and then to work less or not at all. These are completely different mindsets.
In casting aside the “Patriarchal Society” women have lost their femininity as they strive to become man-like in part of their life. It is their femininity that captivates their husband and is the glue that binds their marriage. Without femininity a marriage is weak which has resulted in marriage breakup numbers soaring since the 1950’s.
On the financial side the free market has adapted to double income families. High house prices can only be sustained by couples that pool their income. Various other consumer goods and services have entered the marketplace to take advantage of time poor women. Of course governments have benefited from a far greater tax base.
Men have been damaged as their Patriarchal role has been devalued. Men no longer feel a duty to protect and provide for a wife who is clearly able to look after herself. Men have become selfish and unwilling to commit to long term marriage to a woman without femininity.
It is time for all to see the damage we have done. Slowly overtime we can recreate a 21st century version of earlier Patriarchal Society. Such a society would give status to men who behaved perfectly and led by example. Women would gain freedom to look after their children and have long and strong marriages. No doubt those who championed so called “woman’s rights” thought they were doing the right thing but the reality has fallen far short of perfection.
In a marriage where the husband has a patriarchal role and his wife a feminine role Interdependency is created. Interdependency creates a strong bond because each has their distinct role. There is no blurring of roles where the wife is expected to be part-man at work and loving and sexy at home. This is were marriage bliss resides.
Momma, how r u?? Just checking!
